I’m Totally Addicted To Candy Crush Saga

Candy Crush Saga

A few weeks ago, my husband started playing Candy Crush Saga on his iPad, after seeing a bunch of his Facebook friends playing it. While he’s normally not much of a gamer, this game had him hooked almost immediately. I watched him play for a few days, not really sure what the big deal about it was.

Then one day, I decided to install it on my iPad. BIG MISTAKE!

We’re both totally addicted to this game, playing it as often as possible. He’s been stuck on Level 65 for a good week now, and he’s going crazy. I just beat Level 35 last night, and now I’ve got to beat these 3 quests so I can continue on to the Chocolate Mountains.

This eCard made me laugh, because it’s so true:

If you’re looking for a time-killer, there’s nothing better. But be warned, you might just become addicted to it!

How To Sneak Alcohol Onto A Cruise Ship

Carnival Drink Of The Day

On most cruises I’ve been on, I stick to the occasional Diet Coke, and maybe a Drink of the Day or two. But I have friends who spend a TON of money on alcohol during their cruise, not realizing how fast those $8 drinks add up.. Then they get a $600 alcohol bill, and it almost ruins their vacation!

In the old days, it wasn’t too hard to smuggle alcohol on board. Or better yet, you could just buy alcohol from the duty-free store and bring it back to your room. But it’s not that easy anymore.

Still, some people have found ways to get alcohol past security, and I thought it’d be fun to share a few tips:

1) One of my favorites is using a mouth wash bottle and food coloring. Fill up your Scope bottle with clear liquor and put some green food coloring in it to make it green.

2) Gift wrap a case of Heineken or other premium beverage, and just walk right on in with it. Dressed appropriately, it works. If anyone asks, the answer is “It’s a gift for the captain”. No one ever has.

3) Replace the water in water bottles with alcohol. Some people say security has been shaking bottles looking for bubbles, so you might want to consider using a Sprite bottle instead.

Here’s a video showing you how to do this:

People’s creativity will never cease to amaze me! 🙂

Why You Should Steer Clear Of Counterfeit Bags

Purse From Belize

My friend recent cruised to the Caribbean and visited Belize. When she got off the ship, she noticed that pretty much all the stores at port were selling knock-off purses (Coach, LV, Burberry, etc) at unbelievable prices. Most surprising to her was how open they were about selling these counterfeit bags.

As she walked through one of the shops, she fell in love with this purple Prada purse on display. Something about the design caught her eye, and suddenly she found herself haggling with the shop owner. They wanted $50, and they weren’t budging on the price. Even though this was more than she wanted to spend (you can get a knock-off on Canal Street for $25), she decided to go ahead and buy it.

Unfortunately, she found out the hard way that you get what you pay for. In two months time, the “leather” zipper pull had ripped off, and a pocket in the lining of the purse had torn because the material was so thin. If she used it any longer, no doubt other issues would have popped up.

Now it sits in her closet, a reminder of her bad decision.. The moral of the story?

Steer clear of knock-off purses!

Review: Infiniti Pro by Conair Instant Heat Ceramic Rollers

One of the great things about Winter is that I can blow out my hair and use hot rollers without worrying about humidity interfering with things.

When I was in high school, my Mom would let me use her Clairol Travel Hot Rollers, and she eventually let me keep me. Fast-foward twenty years, and I’m STILL using them! I really like these hot rollers, but lately the edges have been breaking off.

I can’t tell you how mamy times I’ve burnt my fingers. But I guess that’s what happens after 20 years of wear and tear with my thick hair.

I’d finally had enough, and I decided to try a newer updated hot roller. After researching the different options out there, I decided to go with the Infiniti Pro by Conair Instant Heat 20 Ceramic Flocked Rollers.

I wasn’t sure how my hair would turn out, given the fact that I’ve never used ceramic rollers before. But the curlers actually did a great job! The rollers heated up pretty quick, and the clips that came with them were super easy to use. The rollers come in four different sizes – Jumbo, large, medium, and small. This was great, since my older rollers were all one size.

As you can see from the before and after photo below, my hair turned out awesome. As an added bonus, they included a bottle of Argan Oil Treatment, which took away any frizz that I had and made my hair feel extra smooth and shiny.

Overall, I’m very happy with my decision to go with the Infiniti Pro by Conair ceramic rollers. They’re reasonably priced ($39.99 at most retailers), they work as advertised, and the results speak for themselves!

If you’re in the market for hot rollers, definitely give these a shot!

Just Saw My Dream Car At The Detroit Auto Show

2015 Audi S3

The Detroit Auto Show (NAIAS) is one of the biggest auto shows of the year, and my husband was out there for the media preview this year. While I would have loved to come along, I couldn’t get off of work, so I had to settle for his pictures instead.

While there were a lot of cool cars on display at the show (2015 Ford Mustang, Toyota FT-1 Concept, Infiniti Q50 Eau Rouge Concept, 2015 Mercedes-Benz C-Class, etc), the one car that really caught my attention was the 2015 Audi S3.

I’ve always been an Audi fan, but I can’t afford the A5 or A7, and frankly the A4 is a little boring looking. The S3 looks to fit the bill with an affordable price (around $40K), amazing performance, great styling, and it’s limited production means I won’t see one everywhere I go. (Here in Yuppieville, luxury cars are a dime a dozen)

The S3 doesn’t come out until later this year, but you better believe that I’ll be at the dealership as soon as one comes in so I can test drive it for myself. And if all goes well, this might just be my new car!
