How To Beat Makeup-Related Skin Dryness Gently

Woman With Dry Skin

Most women apply makeup everyday, and they wouldn’t dare to step out of the house without doing so. However, makeup contains chemicals that make your skin dull and dry if not taken off every night and cleansed. You can’t sleep with your makeup on. If you do, the pores of your skin are bound to get clogged. Clogged pores inhibit air from entering into the skin. As a result, your skin stores a lot of toxins and becomes darkened and dull.

There are a myriad of ways to treat skin dryness. The best way is by using Aloe Vera. It’s the best skin nourisher. Our skin is naturally moist during the hot summer months due to humidity in the air. But during the winter months, you need something more than that. This goes for your face too, and even oily skin needs to be moisturized. You apply makeup during all seasons. So why not moisturize your skin at all times?

After you step out of the bathing room, make sure you apply lotion or cream over your face and neck so that it is best absorbed through a clean skin. Dry skin is more prone to flaking and giving rise to dead cells which clog the skin pores. This makes skin look patchy and drab. You must slather on a cream or a lotion several times a day to keep your hands soft and smooth.

You must drink gallons of water to look like a pristine, sparkling beauty. Our skin needs a certain percentage of water to appear young and beautiful. Sleeping in a room with a heater will rob the moisture from your skin, making it look dry and withered. It’s good to sleep with a humidifier in your bedroom. Keep your doors closed so the moist air doesn’t escape the room. Some women have a wrong notion that scrubbing your skin leads to dry skin, but that’s not true. Scrubbing leads to removal of dead skin cells, but don’t be too harsh on yourself. This process should be carried out gently. Use a night cream to apply to sensitive under-eye areas to prevent sagging and appearance of wrinkles.

Always use a cleanser like Cetaphil to remove makeup and to cure the dryness associated with it. Moisturizing is the best thing you can do to your dry skin. You may either use a face moisturizer or a makeup primer. Cetaphil Cleanser is gentle on your skin and so soothing that it can also be used instead of soap. Soap tends to irritate sensitive skin or skin that is damaged by eczema, psoriasis, acne or rosacea.

Cetaphil cleanser gently removes impurities and dirt from your skin, but doesn’t make it dry and dull. You can either use it facially, or you can rinse it with water. Don’t just apply but massage your lotion or cream into the skin for maximum absorption. If you leave lotion on the skin, it can lead to blotchiness. Use a specific makeup remover that is meant for the delicate skin around the eyes.

If there’s one thing you can’t forget, it’s exfoliating. It’s very crucial for dry skin. You must exfoliate your skin at least two to three times a week, especially when your skin is dry. This ensures good circulation helping you get rid of deal skin cells and alleviate the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Never touch the sensitive under-eye skin while scrubbing, cleansing, or exfoliating. Exfoliation opens the pores of the skin making it look vibrant and clean. You may go ahead with the moisturizing of your skin once you are done with exfoliation.

Your beauty regimen is incomplete without moisturizing. A good moisturizing agent is required to balance out the pH of the skin which should be ideally acidic. Alkaline soaps must be avoided on face as they strip your face’s skin of essential oils. Dry skin types need an extra dose of hydration. Those with oily skin types must make sure they remove all their makeup with an ideal makeup remover and cleanser so that the chemicals in the makeup do not mix with the facial oils and clog the pores. This looks grossly ugly. Use a cream with antioxidants so that your skin is protected against damaging chemicals in cosmetics and the atmosphere.
