Chick-Fil-A is trying out some new breakfast items in select markets, and as someone who absolutely LOVES their Chick-Fil-A Chicken Biscuit (it’s seriously amazing), I decided to give these new items a shot.
It also didn’t hurt that I had a card allowing me to try four of these new item for free. 🙂
We ordered the Cinnamon Biscuit Roll, Maple Waffle, Toasted Bagel, and a Sausage, Egg & Cheese English Muffin. In a word – Ugh.
The cinnamon biscuit roll was disappointing, tasting nothing like a biscuit, and lacking in overall flavor. The toasted bagel was pretty bad as well – Soggy, chewy, and bland. But the worst offender of them all was the sausage, egg & cheese English muffin, which was just awful. The muffin tasted burnt, the egg tasted artificial, and we threw it away after 2-3 bites. A Sausage McMuffin it wasn’t.
The only bright spot in this otherwise bad breakfast was the maple waffle, which was truly amazing. The waffle is baked with maple syrup inside and has a unique caramelized sugar crunch. It’s delicious, and I hope this becomes a permanent addition to their menu.
Lesson learned. If you’re going to Chick-Fil-A for breakfast, stick with their Chick-Fil-A Chicken Biscuit sandwich.
