Top 3 Fashion Game Apps on Android

Perhaps one of the reasons why mobile games are so popular with people all over the world is because anyone can find a game on the app market that they can relate to and enjoy. Whether you’re a puzzle lover, a casino game enthusiast, or an action RPG gamer, you will find what you’re looking for among the 1,405,245 apps in Android’s Play Store.

Apart from the usual aforementioned game genres, there are also titles for Android that provide a different kind of game play, including fashion-based games. While the past would have seen fashion games be relegated to nothing more than dress-up dolls, today’s fashion apps are so much more. Just as Spin Genie seeks to integrate boring slot machine gameplay with adventure-RPG elements, today’s fashion apps are more immersive and entertaining, easily eating away at hours of your life without you knowing it. Fashionistas will be happy to know that there are several noteworthy ones, including:

Mobile app developer Glu may have stumbled across the single greatest mix of genres in fashion apps with KIM KARDASHIAN: HOLLYWOOD. Playing on the success of Kim K herself, the game has become one of the most talked-about apps today. Quite reminiscent of Glu’s earlier game, Stardom, the Kim K game puts you in control of an avatar that you guide from humble beginnings to success and stardom. If you’ve ever had dreams of hitting it big and scoring modeling and acting gigs, dating the hottest celebs, and being BFFs with Kim Kardashian herself, then this is the app for you.

Fashion Star Boutique
Dreaming of owning your very own boutique? Turn that dream into gaming reality by playing Fashion Star Boutique. In this game, players express their creativity by designing clothes for the clients that they’ll encounter in the game. Players may also showcase their talents by making clothes that can earn them fame and fortune based on the aesthetic beauty of their design. This game has already been downloaded around 1 million times and has been named Best App 2012 In Style & Beauty by iPhone Life.

Fashion Icon
Fashion Icon is perhaps one of the most beautiful fashion-based games on Android. Players get to spoil themselves and are able to become a shopaholic in the most stylish boutiques in the game. Fashion Icon utilizes an MMORPG style of game play where players can interact with other players from all over the world, participate in fashion missions, and fully customize their avatars with thousands of clothes and accessories. The game is graphics-heavy so it’s probably best to use a phone with at least a dual-core processor. With an RPG game play and lots of fashionable things to do, this game brings the best of both worlds to gamers and fashionistas alike.

There are many other fashion-based games on Android’s Play Store but these three are quite possibly the best ones out there. Do you have any fashion games that you love playing? Share them in the comments section below!

Here’s The Trailer For ‘Fifty Shades Of Grey’

When I woke up this morning, the new Fifty Shades of Grey trailer was being posted all over Facebook. So after the third or fourth posting, I decided to watch it for myself and see what all the hype was about.

Now as someone who’s read the book, I’m not sure how this will translate into a 2-hour movie, but the trailer definitely looks authentic to the book. I also had mixed feelings about the casting of Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson for Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele, but they seems to work from what I can see here.

The movie is set to be released on February 14th 2015, and I predict it’ll break all kinds of box office records, given that it was one of the biggest and fastest-selling book series ever.

What do you think of the trailer?

The New Season Of Big Brother Premieres Wednesday

Big Brother

Big Brother is my summer guilty pleasure, and it’s back for another season starting this Wednesday. That’s right, we get a house full of new strangers vying for that half million dollar prize, and they’re willing to sell their dignity to get it!

Last year’s cast was absolutely shocking, with racism running strong inside the house, which ultimately led to people losing their jobs when they got back in the “real” world.

Will this season’s cast be more conscious of the cameras and watch what they say after what happened last year? I guess we’ll see soon enough..

Yes, I probably have better things to do with the 3 hours a week I’m wasting on this show, but I cant help it. 🙂

Why Did ‘Edge of Tomorrow’ Bomb At The Box Office?

Edge of Tomorrow

Last week, I attended an advanced screening for Tom Cruise’s new action sci-fi movie Edge of Tomorrow and I really enjoyed it. So imagine my surprise when I found out the movie fizzled at the box office over the weekend, coming in a distant third.

The movie, which stars Cruise and Emily Blunt, is about Earth’s fight against aliens that are trying taking over the planet, and Cruise’s ability to replay the same day over and over again, much like in Groundhog Day. The difference? He learns from each previous instance, going from a rookie soldier to an unstoppable force. There’s also similarities to Source Code with Jake Gyllenhaal, another favorite of mine.

As a huge Tom Cruise fan, I was definitely excited to see Edge of Tomorrow, and it didn’t disappoint one bit. I thought Cruise and Blunt had great on-screen chemistry, and the movie really kept my attention (which is saying something since I sometimes have ADD and have trouble sitting still while watching movies).

So I say ignore everyone else’s opinions and go see the movie. But save your money and skip the 3D, as the special effects aren’t worth the extra money!

I Attended An Early Screening Of ‘Transcendence’

If you’ve turned on the TV in the past few weeks, you’ve probably seen the commercial for the new Johnny Depp movie Transcendence. I was fortunate enough to attend an early screening off the movie on Monday night, and I wanted to give me quick thoughts on the movie for anyone thinking about seeing it this weekend.

The movie’s storyline is a little “out there”, but here’s the premise: Artificial intelligence researcher Dr. Will Caster (Depp) is dying, so he uploads his brain to a computer so that he can go on “living”. Inside of the computer, he’s able to transcend the abilities of the human brain, and we get to see how this plays out.

I can’t really say much more about the movie without giving away critical plot lines, but I will say that it was an enjoyable two hours, though it does get a little confusing at time. It’s one of those movies that you’ll leave the theater still thinking about, and that’s a good thing in my opinion.

There’s also LOTS of eye candy for the ladies in the cast, and I’m not just talking about Johnny Depp. Paul Bettany, Cillian Murphy, Cole Hauser, and Lukas Haas, among others.

It’s well worth the $12 price of admission, so if you’re looking for a movie to see this weekend, check out Transcendence. You won’t be disappointed!

I’m Totally Addicted To Candy Crush Saga

Candy Crush Saga

A few weeks ago, my husband started playing Candy Crush Saga on his iPad, after seeing a bunch of his Facebook friends playing it. While he’s normally not much of a gamer, this game had him hooked almost immediately. I watched him play for a few days, not really sure what the big deal about it was.

Then one day, I decided to install it on my iPad. BIG MISTAKE!

We’re both totally addicted to this game, playing it as often as possible. He’s been stuck on Level 65 for a good week now, and he’s going crazy. I just beat Level 35 last night, and now I’ve got to beat these 3 quests so I can continue on to the Chocolate Mountains.

This eCard made me laugh, because it’s so true:

Candy Crush eCard

If you’re looking for a time-killer, there’s nothing better. But be warned, you might just become addicted to it!

Wicked: The Untold Story of the Witches of Oz

For years now, I’ve wanted to see Wicked The Musical. We almost went up to New York City last year to see it, but limited seat options plus the headache of traveling to NYC put the brakes on that.

So when I heard that Wicked was coming back to Philadelphia, I told my husband that’s what I wanted for Christmas! Mind you, this conversation happened LAST SUMMER. Yes, tickets for the show went on sale a full year in advance, and we finally got to see the play over the weekend. Let me tell you, it was definitely worth the wait!

We took the train into the city and walked a few blocks to the Academy of Music. It was my first time there, and I was amazed at what a beautiful building it was. As you can see from the photo below, we had the best seats in the house – Perks of being married to a former ticket broker. Our seats were in row DDD, the first row in the house!

Wicked Seats For WICKED

If you have not heard of Wicked, it’s the untold story of the witches of OZ. Watching The Wizard Of Oz as a kid, I never knew that Elphaba, the Wicked Witch of the West and Glinda, the Good Witch of the Sorth were friends at one time. So it was interesting to see them go back in time and explain the backstory. True Wizard of Oz fans might notice some discrepancies with respect to the original story, but certain liberties had to be taken to make the story work. While I thought it was really great, I think hubby was getting a little bored after awhile, as I caught him yawning more than a few times..

If you’re in the Philadelphia area, it’s not too late to see Wicked, as they are here until August 4th. It’s a great cast, great music, and a great story. Highly recommended.

Thanks to my hubby for a great Christmas gift! 🙂

‘Runner, Runner’ Stars Ben Affleck & Justin Timberlake

Runner Runner

Last week, we went to see The Internship (great movie), and they showed the trailer for a new movie starring Ben Affleck and Justin Timberlake called Runner, Runner.

Here’s the storyline for the movie:

Princeton grad student Richie (Timberlake), believing he’s been swindled, travels to Costa Rica to confront online gambling tycoon Ivan Block (Affleck). Richie is seduced by Block’s promise of immense wealth, until he learns the disturbing truth about his benefactor. When the FBI tries to coerce Richie to help bring down Block, Richie faces his biggest gamble ever: attempting to outmaneuver the two forces closing in on him.

And here’s the trailer:

Looks pretty great, right? Unfortunately, we’ve got awhile to wait, as the movie doesn’t come out until September 27th.
