When I saw the commercial for the new Burger King Satisfries, I just had to try them. I’m a sucker for crinkle-cut fries, and they just looked so good. So I made my husband swing through the drive-thru on the way home last night so I could get some.
My first impression was one of shock. A small Satisfries costs $2.29, more than double the cost of small fries at most fast food restaurants. But no matter, I was already here, so I ordered them anyway. Big mistake.
These Satisfries are GROSS. At first, I thought I liked them. But as I kept eating them, I realized that they weren’t good at all, and my rating for them kept going down and down. What first started as a 7 on a scale of 1-10 had dropped to a 2 by the time I got home. I don’t know what the deal is, but they tasted more like potatoes than French fries. I’m sure the 40% less fat and 30% less calories has to do with this problem, but you can’t advertise something as having “big taste” when it really should read “bad taste”.
This isn’t the first time I’ve gotten burned by a new menu item on Burger King’s menu. A few months ago, I tried their new Pulled Pork Sandwich, which might just be the WORST thing I’ve ever eaten. Three bites in, and I took it back, as it was basically inedible.
Consider yourself warned.. Burger King still sells their regular fries, and they’re 1000x better than these new Satisfries. Or say diet be damned, and just get the onion rings!
