Getting Started On My New Year’s Resolution

The old New Year’s Resolution. Each year, we tell ourselves that “this will be the year”, and a few weeks later, we’re back to our old habits. 🙂

But this year will be different.. I got the Peak Fit System, and I’ve even convinced my husband to do it with me, as he could stand to lose a few pounds as well..

The Peak Fit System is supposed to be the perfect blend of cardio and strength training, sequenced to trick your body into performing at a higher level. Without realizing it, each stage will take you a little further, push you a little harder, and help you reach a higher level than you could with a traditional workout.

I’m excited to see what kind of progress I can make in the next eight weeks, and I’ll be sure to post updates along the way!

Suits Fans – Who’s Hotter, Harvey Or Mike?

USA Network’s legal drama Suits is one of my favorite shows for many reasons.. Great writing, fun cases, and of course the eye-candy – Of course, I’m talking about Harvey Specter and Mike Ross.

The new season kicks off tonight, so I’ve gotta ask.. Who’s hotter?

House Of Lies Returns For Another Season

While everyone talks about shows like Dexter and Homeland, there’s another show on Showtime that deserves some recognition.

House of Lies follows a group of management consultants who stop at nothing to get business deals done, even if it calls for extremes. It’s one of my favorite shows, and I’m thrilled that it got picked up for a second season!

The new season kicked off Sunday night, and while it wasn’t the strongest premiere, it’s really setting the tone for this upcoming season..

If you never watched the show before, Showtime On Demand has all 10 episodes from the first season. In 5 hours time, you’ll be all caught up and ready to go. 🙂

Panera’s New Spinach Power Salad Is To Die For!

After being cooped up all weekend taking care of my sick husband, I decided to get away for a few hours last night.. After wandering around Ulta for awhile, I walked next door to Panera, where I saw the sign for their new Spinach Power Salad.

Fresh baby spinach, roasted mushrooms and onion blend, diced eggs, applewood-smoked bacon, frizzled onions & smoky Vidalia® onion vinaigrette.

Sounds amazing, right?

I decided to give it a shot, and let me tell you, it’s as good as it sounds!

Like everything else at Panera, it’s a little pricey (I think it was $6.99 or $7.99), but it’s SOOO worth it. 🙂

The salad is only available for a limited time, but I’m hoping they make it a permanent menu item. (Fingers crossed)

Who’s Watching The New Season Of ‘The Bachelor’?

The Bachelor returned for a 17th season on Monday night, and this season’s bachelor is Sean Lowe. You might remember him from Emily Maynard’s season of The Bachelorette, where he was the last bachelor eliminated before the finale.

Now he’s back, with 26 women to choose from this time around. And a few things are pretty obvious this season:

  1. Even though the discrimination lawsuit against the show was dismissed, they’re being REALLY careful in their casting decisions this time around.
  2. In an attempt to show off Sean’s spontaneity, they have him hand out 12 roses before the first rose ceremony. CRAZY!
  3. The girls are total nutjobs who are desperate to get married!

While I really liked the girl who got the first rose, the previews for this season make it seem like she’s this season’s Vienna.

I’m also bummed that the girl obsessed with 50 Shades of Grey got sent home already.. That could have made for some interesting TV! 😀

Regardless, it looks like we’re in for another crazy season. If you missed the first episode, you can watch it online at

The Cutest Dog Is On MTV’s New Show ‘Buckwild’

I wasn’t planning on watching MTV’s Buckwild, but my hubby finally convinced me to give it a shot. It’s basically Jersey Shore meets Jackass, and it takes place in the woods of West Virginia. And believe it or not, it was actually pretty funny!

But the highlight of the show for me was seeing Cara’s cute puppy Elvis. She says he’s half dachshund (weiner dog) and half maltese, and he’s absoultely adorable.

It took me awhile, but I found some more pictures of him on her Instagram account.

No telling what he’ll look like all grown up, but right now I could just eat him up! 🙂

‘Cosmopolis’ Might Just Be The Worst Movie Of 2012

Yesterday, I rented Cosmopolis. I didn’t know much about the movie beforehand, but I’m a Twilight geek who’s in love with Robert Pattinson, so I had to see the movie.

What a mistake that was!

Seriously, this is the most boring and bizarre movie ever, so bad in fact that I fell asleep about an hour in.. Cosmopolis is an adaptation of Don DeLillo’s story about a 28 year-old billionaire who crosses Manhattan for a haircut. Riveting story, don’t you think?

I eventually woke up and watched the rest of the movie. Unfortunately, it didn’t get any better. Had I checked my usual review sites (IMDB, Rotten Tomatoes, etc), I would have steered clear of this trainwreck.

If you’re looking for something else to rent instead, consider Looper, Total Recall, or The Dark Knight Rises. All three are solid flicks that I really enjoyed!
