A Few Hours Of Bliss At Rizzieri Salon and Day Spa

The holidays can be a pretty stressful time. That’s why I decided to treat myself to a Spa Manicure and Spa Pedicure at Rizzieri Salon and Day Spa in Marlton, NJ. Rizzieri has a variety of spa treatments to choose from, and the Spa Manicure and Spa Pedicure are two of my favorites.

With the Spa Manicure, they spent about 30 minutes cleaning up my cuticles, filing down my nails, massaging my hands (with Aveda Hand Cream), and then dipping my nails in Paraffin Wax. They have plenty of nail polishes to pick from, or you can go with a French Manicure. I normally go with a pink polish, but I decided to do something different and go with the French Manicure since I’d never had one before. I loved the way it looked!

After the manicure, it was time to pamper my tired and dried-out feet. The Spa Pedicure is 60 minutes of relaxation, where they filed down my toe nails, cleaned up my cuticles, and used a pumice stone to remove dead skin, callouses and rough spots from my feet. But the best part was when she massaged my feet (with Aveda Foot Cream), after which I dipped them in Paraffin Wax. I also went with the French Manicure for my toenails.

Let me tell you, it was so worth paying the extra money for the paraffin treatment. If you haven’t done it before, you absolutely have to try it! The wax is so warm and soothing, and your hands and feet feel amazing afterwards!

I can’t wait to go back to Rizzieri’s. Maybe my hubby will see this post and surprise me for Christmas. 🙂

M&M Cookie Pie – Combining My Two Favorite Treats!

Diets be damned, it’s the holidays! With that excuse planted firmly in my head, I decided to try out this M&M Cookie Pie recipe I found on Six Sisters’ Stuff.

1 cup + 1 tablespoon all purpose flour
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
3/4 cup butter, softened to room temperature
1/2 cup light brown sugar
1 large egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 1/2 cup mini M&M’s

  1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, cream together butter and brown sugar. Add in egg and vanilla and mix well.
  3. In a separate bowl, combine flour and baking soda.
  4. Add flour mixture to your large mixing bowl and mix until completely incorporated.
  5. Fold in M&M’s.
  6. Pour and spread batter into a greased 9 1/2″ pie pan and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  7. Let cool and cut into slices.

This sweet treat is even better when topped with ice cream and chocolate syrup. 😀

Review: Mary Kay NouriShine Plus Lip Gloss (Inspiring)

While going through my makeup the other day, I came across one of my lipsticks that I hadn’t been wearing, because it was a little too dark for me. I needed to lighten up the color, and I had just the thing to do the trick!

I recently got Mary Kay’s NouriShine Plus Lip Gloss in the limited-edition Inspiring color. This color has a nice translucent pearl shimmer, which definitely toned down the color of my lipstick. The texture is nice and smooth, and I’m a big fan of this lip gloss because it’s nonsticky, unlike some of my other lip glosses.

Mary Kay NouriShine Plus Lip Gloss comes in 14 standard colors and costs just $14.00.

Bummed Out About ‘Last Resort’ Cancellation

Yet again, another quality show gets the axe thanks to ABC’s “death slot” (Thursday at 8PM). It’s a wonder why ABC bothers launching new shows in this timeslot, when nothing in this timeslot has gotten a second season since 2009!

This time, the victim is Last Resort. The series stars Scott Speedman and Andre Braugher as officers on a renegade Navy submarine, caught in the middle of a government cover up. Lots of action, a solid storyline, and a lot of eye candy!

I actually gave up watching 30 Rock so that I could watch Last Resort (the joys of DVR conflicts), but I guess I was in the minority.

Thankfully, the network will air all 13 episodes, and Last Resort co-creator Shawn Ryan promises a “kick-ass” ending.

Showing Off My New Fossil Purse!

A few years back while visiting my Mom in Arizona, she bought me a Fossil leather purse. The purse always got compliments, and even after all these years, it still looks and feels brand new! The quality of Fossil’s leather is incredible.

I visited my Mom in Arizona over Thanskgiving, and she took me out on Black Friday for some retail therapy. Our first stop was the Tanger Outlets!

We visited both the Fossil and Michael Kors stores in search of the perfect purse. Both stores had a great selection of purses to choose from, but I really fell in love with the Fossil Maddox Python Satchel. I usually go for a “safe” black or brown color, but the Python print really caught my attention.

The Maddox satchel offers a lot of versatility, and just look at the eye-catching details of the bag! Soft embossed leather and classic hardware make this a go-to bag, while belting details add a vintage-inspired flair.

The Maddox Satchel usually sells for $218, but the outlet store had it for $159.99. And since it was Black Friday, they took off an additional 40%!

And I couldn’t help myself, I had to get the matching wallet as well. 🙂

A pretty good deal, don’t you think?
